So i am home on leave right now and my mother wants to make some pulled pork. thing is they dont have a smoker for me to smoke it in. So shes gonna do it in the oven. Do you rub down the pork and prep the same way you would if you would if you were smoking it? Also im going to use some of SouthFlaquers finishing sauce. Will it still taste the same mixed with the pork even though its not smoked pork? Also should i inject like when i smoke it?

Going low and slow in the oven will have the same end result ,try adding a little liquid smoke to make up for not smoking it.

Ok thanks man. One more question she just pulled out a pork roast. There both about 3.5lbs hows pulled pork when its made outta that? Never tried it.

If it were me I would do it in a slow cooker (cock pot) or dutch oven in the oven

For a crock, trim mostly all the exterior fat, if using a boston but, remove the fat cap as well.

Rub as you would for a smoker

Place a layer of thick cut onions in the bottom, to prevent scorching. you need to discard the onions and pour off the fat, this can be placed in the fridge and defatted to make a finishing sauce.

I usually do this with a loin when camping with the guys.

I have already thrown a picnic roast right in the crock, skin and all, 18 hours or so then poured off the liquid.

Go look up Pulled pork in a slow cooker using your search engine of choice.  It is easy to make in Oven, Smoker, Slow Cooker (Crock Pot).  Lots of way to do it do exist.

I once had, former G/F stole it, a handout from North Carolina that showed you how to make Carolina pulled pork in a slow cooker.  It was GOOD!
