Not for me, but a friend. My old charcoal ECB had a lid that was larger than the barrel/body of the smoker. No vent and smoke would sife out the sides below the lid. (added my own vent mod)
My friend Bib told me his smoker has the barrel/body of the smoker larger than the lid, so that the lid set down inside the body. Said something like a 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap. he is concerned about heat and smoke lost. I queried him as to a lid vent and found out it does not have one. I kinda figured this configuration was to help vent some of the smoke from the smoker. Am I correct?
