Hey Guys,

I've got a question for you. I have secured a 100 gallon propane tank for my RFS and a nice trailer and I noticed on Craig'slist that a lot of small wood stoves are for sale here in the Richmond area.

My question is could I use these for a firebox on my build. Some of these stoves are some pretty heavy duty iron stoves complete with dampners and doors and all the accessories. Some of these are pretty nice and IMO would look good on a smoker. Some are nice rectangular shapes and would probably fit the area I need for the firebox per the calculator here on the site.

Here is one I'm looking at

I've been very impressed while reading all the advise offered here on this site and hope to get some good advice on this.

Thanks in advance!

I agree, I do not recoment using cast iron on something on a trailer, it can be welded, but it is brittle.

Now, with that said, I have always liked the ideal of using one of these stoves for a stationary pit. Id go with one with the single stack on the rear (like a pot belly) design.

Good luck.
