Hey guys, we're smoking 4 beer butt chickens tomorrow along with lots of other food. I'm running out of room in my fridge and wanted to know if i can brine the chickens one at a time (for 4 hours each) and then take them out of the brine and refridgerate until tomorrow?

Also any advice on beer butt chickens is welcomed!!

Yes you can.

Brine  them in a big ziplock!!

Do you have a cooler? You can just brine them all at the same time. put a bag of ice in there unopened to keep cold.

We empty out the vegetable drawers in the bottom of the fridge. You can fit 4 in there in zip lock bags.

Mikndonna, I'm a beliver in the K.I.S.S. method;I simply wash my bird under cold water and clean her up (fat, wingtips, gibblets)real good ,then pat her dry, then liberally coat and rub her insides and all over the outside. You may want to mix some rub with butter and push it under the skin in a nice generous layer. This will help in making the skin more krispy and the Breast juicier.Next I shove the can up her rear

and place her in the smoker . Some times less means more, but that's just MHO

I like to brine whole chickens overnight, but that's me. The cooler idea is best, ziplock bags, in the cooler with ice. Happy smoking!

We ended up brining 2 of them and not brining the other two.  They all turned out really great. I'll post some pictures once my husband sends them to me from his phone! Thanks for all of the advice!

I buy the 3 & 5 gallon ziploc storage bags, and they are awesome for brining poultry. I can fit two whole chickens in a 3 gallon bag, then fill it with brine and close it up. I have a big ice chest that will hold a 20 lb. bag of ice and either 2 big turkeys or 8 whole chickens. Works great for overnight brining!
