Well im hooked on finding the perfect ribs. Been trying ribs from several of the markets and stores locally. so far it seems like the more$ you spend the better the rib. Got some at hy-vee ( Best so far, but the most$)and some at wal-mart yesterday(Liked the price and they seemed meatier). Farmland vs. Hormel...Farmland at wally for $1.97# or the Hormel at Hyvee for $3.99#.. ANyone have any opinions on which is better or what ribs you stick with??? Also gonna do a few ABTs and Dutch's baked beans.....

Trimmed, rubbed with jeffs rub and evoo, and have been in the CGSP for 30 min... using Hickor /apple.... Royal Oak lump... and sprtizing with Apple juice..... oh and 3-2-1.. will post my findings of the experiment.

I prepher to buy at sams club. I get my meat either from there or a little omish slaughter house/ meat market about 15 miles away when they have it

Sounds like a good quest for the best I look forward to your thoughts when you get done

May your quest for rip utopia be successful!

Well ever region of the country will be different although we do see Hormel here, they can be hit or miss. Country Pride makes some nice ribs and we can see them on sale for the $1.80/lb area. Usually two slabs to a pack.
Basically I just look for a meaty, less fatty rib.

Alrighty, bout an hour till spares are done... Meanwhile, I made the 1st abts on the cgsp and ate all the trimmings off the ribs... also had a little abt filler left and didnt want to go to waste... so I mad a " Atomic Tator Turd"... It was really good... here they are, and will post the ribs later..

I avoid the solutionized meat

"MEAT SHOULD NOT HAVE AN INGREDIENTS LIST"

amen to that.

I like the tater turd idea, I gotta try that one!

Hey there fireguy, I can get farmland up here and prefer their product, but I am a regular browser of meat isles for good deals. I won't discriminate on brands if the meat looks good and it's a good deal. As for your smoke, it all looks great. Hope the ABT's weren't too hot for ya! (I really got razzed for my prior post on that topic!).

Enjoy the great looking food!

.

I usually get my spares at Sam's. Cheap and they come with the breast bone already removed.

Looking forward to the rest but gotta say that tater looks GREAT!

well, the farmlands were def. meatier than the Hormels, atleast this week.. taste was good on both. I did like the less meaty though.. it just had the right pull for me ... will try some from samms next week and come to a conclusion from there. But heres the Q-view for now...

yeah dude, paid thats what I thought...BBs are 6 bones per #... The cheap ones I find either have noe meat at all or are all fat... dont have a save alot here... wish I did.

Both racks look mighty fine
