Pulled My Pork on the Akorn

  1. 9 lb plus pork piknik shoulder injected with apple juice and apple cider vinegar  


    On the Akorn @ 250°F

    Smoked to 160°F  ... foiled continued on to 190°F internal temp

    3-1/2 lbs all said and done. Rested an hour unfoiled.  Pulled fine. Next time 200°F, unfoil an hour, rest an hour then pull. Crisper bark that way perhaps although was not to bad as was.
  2. It looks good. But as you said go to 200°-205° next time for pulled. I'm not a foil guy but you can if you want. I like the bark better without foil.

  3. Pulled fine.  Wouldn't have cooked any less. Opened the foil at 190 F and crisped the bark back up but the internal temp didn't want to move anymore so next time will go at least 200 F, unfoil, crisp, rest and pull!
