Yeah, I just learned that!

I went out to my home built hybrid smoker, plugged in the Auber controller, ran the thermocouple, hooked up the Tappecue, set the temp on the Auber, and then went inside for a beverage.

About 15 minutes later I looked at my iPhone to check the temp of the pit and it was flat! Went outside, checked connections and such and then I glanced at the readout on the controller, it too said 87 degrees.... It was then that I realized that one must plug the element in as well! :icon_eek:

The pic below shows a LONG flat line, and then jumps up, that's how long I was in bonehead mode!



Oh well, loin hams are NOW drying a bit...
 
That's why I stick to charcoal,if I can't get it light there's a real problem.:biggrin:
