That looks amazing!  Can't wait to try a prime rib roast (bone in of course).  My mom is visiting in a couple of weeks and she loves this cut of beef as much as I do so will use your method at that time and hope it comes out as good as your.

Thanks for sharing.

Bear,

Just awesome!  Hat's off to you, my good friend!

With regard to all the PETA/PITA comments: I can't disagree with any of them.  But I can add this:

Thank You Bama!!

Best prices seem to be around Holidays, like Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, and maybe Labor Day.

I got 5 of them, about 5.5 pounds each, around Christmas. Then I vacuum packed them, and I'm good for a long time.

I got 2 left yet. I'm milking them pretty good!!!!

Most of these Peta nuts don't realize .Their is more animals killed from 1 salad than 1 BBQ.Farmers use 32 row planters and harvesters, 90' spray rigs shooting poison  that will kill everything in it path but the crop.Rabbits ,birds,snakes,moles,voles,mice,rats,woodchucks,squirrel's,etc..

Great looking prime rib.  Our local Kroger put whole ribeyes on sale for $4.97/# so I've got a 14 pounder set to go on my woodburner tomorrow.  Gonna use almost all cherry wood with just a hint of hickory thrown in to get it to about 135.

Michael I'm also from Ark. (Brinkley) and am glad to see a fellow Arkie here but you've got to learn a little more about farming.  I'm raising my 19th crop now and we're not spraying anything nearly as toxic as you make it out to be.  Very rarely do we spray anything that I'd be afraid to get directly on my skin.  BTW my sprayer has a 100' boom *grin*.

Thanks Rab,

I paid $5.99 for these 5 Rib roasts. Then a week later they dropped the price even lower---to $4.99, but I was out of money!!!

My Son, however, went back & bought another bunch!!

However, the best price I ever paid for Ribeye steaks was "$ 0.00"  per pound.

Here's the link to that deal:

Dang Bear, I must have missed this one the first time.  You post some absolutely perfect looking prime rib!  Cooked just right for me.  Reminds me that I have one in the freezer, and if I didn't have a brisket and some pork butts ready to smoke tomorrow, I might try a quick water bath thaw.  Oh well, there's next week!

I always claim the ribs as mine too!

another great post Bear!

simply awesome......just decided what I will try on my next smoke!!  If I lived with Bear I would weigh 400 pounds!!  thanks for sharing......

Man O Man could I get into that.   Perfect in my humble opinion.  I would make only one change......Mash potatoes with Aus jus gravy!
Thanks EJ!!

I love mashed, baked, and fries, but those little roasted reds usually win.

Check out my Smoked Hot Beef Sammy----Mashed won there, because we already needed the gravy.
