....at least that's what I call it. It has no name, as far as I know. Got this great recipe from a friend who served it to us at a BBQ this past summer. Thought I would try it for a pot luck dinner we're going to at the club house on Wednesday:

1 pkg. Ore-Ida frozen chunk hash browns
    1 8oz. container sour cream
1 can Cream of Chicken soup
    2 Cups shredded cheddar cheese
    Dash of garlic

    Topping: (mix together)
    2 cups crushed corn flakes
    1 stick butter, melted

Combine the hash browns, sour cream, chicken soup, cheese and garlic; spread in pan.

    Spread topping over potato mixture.

    Bake at 350 degrees F. for 2 1/2 hours.

    Note:
I'm going to add diced onions and a little more garlic powder.
I'm also going to bake it for only 2 hours, as I thought they were kind of dry when we had them at my friend's. However, the taste is great and it is an easy recipe.

I'll let you know if I get any reviews from the folks at the club house.[IMG]

My aunt makes this too. Around here we call it patio potatoes. She makes it with the hash browns that have the peppers and onions mixed in. It is might damn good. It is good with dothory linch dressing over it.....

Well, the potato whatever was a success. Everyone liked it and there wasn't but a spoonful left to bring home.[IMG] I forgot to take a picture of it as we went to the clubhouse as soon as I took it out of the oven. All I can say is it looked good enough to eat.[IMG]

Hope you enjoy the dish. Just remember not to bake it more than 2 hours. It will get dried out. [IMG]
