I am smoking a Pork shoulder it has been in the smoker for about 4 hours or so but the Temp of the shoulder is stick and wont rise any more. The smoker is sitting at about 200-250 what do I do?

to chefrob you must listen - ride the wave and stay with it. the stall is an enemy of us all, yet, time will defeat it.

keep your temps in the 230-250 range, sit back and have a beverage of your choice, and wait. it wills tart rising soon.

while you wait, you can look through some old posts here and get a lot of great information. welcome to the SMF!

be sure to stop in at the ROLL CALL and introduce yourself - finally, if you ahve a camera handy, take some pix and post your q-view here - we LOVE to see q-view!

Thanks for all your help I will stop by roll call and as soon a I can get some pics up

So you are enjoying your first stall. First just kick back and let it ride cause there is nothing you can do to it that will make it start the temp moving. So go read a small book or just watch the football game and it will start moving when it decided to start moving again.

Don't worry, good things are happening! Wait you must!
