Pork shoulder smoke out

  1. Well I'm 1 hour into my 12 hour smoke time. It's 2:53am here in western NY. I'm smoking a pork shoulder over Kentucky bourbon white oak chunks with lump charcoal. The shoulder was injected with apple juice and some seasoning. The outer rub is jakes grillin pork rub. I have a few buddies from high school coming over to watch the NASCAR race tomorrow.

    Off to a good start. Getting up is the hardest part.

    Looking good so far and good luck with your smoke,  I am sure it will be great as the kentucky bourbon white oak chunks seem like they would add great flavor to the meat.

    It looks good. The best thing to do now is to run to the store and get another. Call in sick tomorrow and do it all over again....lol
