I am using my Masterbuilt Electric Smoker to smoke a 6.5 lb pork butt. I put it in around 9 and have kept the temp steady around 235. We are now 2.5 hours later and I am already at 160 internal  temp. I know there is the stall, but does this seem to be cooking to fast to anyone else? Has anyone else had this problem in the past, if so what did you do? Any help would be appreciated.

when it stalls you'll be asking yourself " what the hell is taking this so long to cook" lol.  it will be fine.  Ive never had one finish in under 1.5 hrs per lb.  If it does get done early just wrap it in foil and then put in a cooler filled with towels it will stay hot for hours.  One last thing, are you sure your therms. are right?

Thanks guys for the info. I reached the stall literally 15 minutes after I posted the question. Still standing strong around 175 for about two hours now!

I am actually using two therms. because I didn't know if the one that came installed with the smoker could be trusted. Both are running within 1-2 degrees of each other!

Thanks again guys, I love this forum, especially for a novice smoker like myself!
