I am looking for a small sized meatball shaper preferably a scoop/scissor style one. Has anyone seen one of these, or know where to get one?

I use dime to nickel sized spicy meatballs in my chili, and making them is the most time consuming/messy part of the whole process.

Help Please!!!

Like this but smaller.

Guess I'm old school, I just use my hands... I have used the scoops before but found it takes more time, and unless they are really cold the meat sticks a bunch and you spend more time picking out the meat than you do shaping them yourself. Not to mention you  get better meat balls (burgers too) the less you compress the meat when forming.

I make around 100 meatballs out of a 16 oz chub. It is a lot of work, but well worth the final product. I am just looking for an easier way. If I can find something already made I will buy it, if not I will hopefully make something that can expedite the process.

I've never seen one that small, and I peruse the commercial restaurant supply regularly. Your best bet would be a set of stainless measuring spoons.

OXO puts out a 1/2 Fluid ounce Cookie Scoop that will get you what you are looking for. A level scoop will result in a Nickle sized meatball, after cooking, and 1/2oz is the common size meatball in Italian Wedding Soup...Another option is to use a Sausage Stuffer with a 1/2 to 1 inch stuffing tube. As the desired sized Meatball exits, snip it off with scissors then final shape by hand... JJ

How about a melonball scoop. Nice and small.
