I have 2 door master forge propane smoker.

Going to try to use chunks and use the smoker box that came with it

Does it matter where to place the chunks in the box?

When using the smoker box, with chunks, should I use the slotted lid it came with or leave it open to fit bigger chunks?

Thanks

I have the same unit as you and after two smokes in it I ditched the tray that came with it.  Way too small and has issues like lots of flare ups.  I then tried putting the chucks into foil balls.  Was ok not the greatest.  Next I went with a throw away foil pan from Wally, added chunks and chips, yes both, covered with heavy foil, poked holes in it. Worked better and flare ups but not as many.  Then I finally went with a 12" tube and pellets from A-mazen.  Works the best.

Thanks, where and how do you place the tube pellet in the smoker?
