Yes the dogs deserve treats too!    This is the skin from a recently cooked picnic shoulder.   I put it up on the 007 grate with some oil brushed on it.  The grate I adjusted to 10" above the top, gonna toss on a big split on every now and then until crisp.

I guess you don't spoil your dogs much, huh!

I feed all our scraps to the fish & turtles out behind my house, but I don't cook for them.

Your pups are lucky to have you as their owner.

Thanks David.      It's still cooking at the 6 hour mark and it keeps on getting better.   Definitely lucky dogs and lucky me. I didn't realize how tasty this was gonna be.  225-250 ish over a real fire does wonders to render the fat and flavor it!

OMG you would be in deep S*** if my wife seen that being made for the Pouches.

FWIS, lucky dogs !
...and lucky human after realizing how good this is!  haha    I'm still gonna share with the fur balls though.

8 hours and going strong but I'll crank up the heat some and get-er-done.   Planning on chopping it into a taco

Looks great not sure I'd share any but my dog is a sneaky sob!
Ha!  Yes they can be sneaky!  lol

Thanks B, I was clueless on how good the skin could be so that's why I dedicated it for their consumption.   OOPS!    LOL, they are definitely getting their snacks though.

Keith, that looks amazing.   I need to try this instead of throwing it out.

Looks like a great meal!  Surprising how tasty some of the stuff that typically gets tossed in the trash can be when it's cooked right.
OMG Tossed out? Thrown in the trash can? Thats cracklin's the food of the gods! Every time Zeus sits down for a cold beer to watch a game, its cracklins (if the Doc says his cholestral is down)...LOL

Throw that belly in a pot of beans and make the neighbors beg you to share!

Oh My! Throw it away?

Foam I had no idea either. lol   Today I learned a whole lot, and learned how I can cook them even better the next time.   I feel like a  new passage in cooking has opened up. haha  This is some good stuff.
