Hi Y'all,

Just checking to see what availability is like in and around the Albuquerque area for pellets- I'm moving from the frozen hellhole of Minnesota to sunny NM this fall, and I'm debating whether to buy a couple pallets up here from Todd, and pay to have them moved down w/ the rest of our stuff, or if there is a local supplier down there with a decent price.

Anybody have any info??

I don't live there, so this is only here-say...but I think CookinPellets has a dealer in Albuquerque.  You might double check that, but according to CP's website, the dealer's name is Jackssons.

When I was living in NM every hardware store had chips and chunks, as too did the larger groceries. It all depends upon where you are going because some of those towns in NM are 100 miles from nowhere and you are lucky to have an Allsups to get gas...LOL  I lived in one.

Listen, I'd move and explore the possibilities then buy from Todd. I have heard stories about others pellets and I must say, Todd's have always been good to me, even if I cussed 'em a little.

If your moving into the Valley I bought all my smoking gear down on 12th st. there's a big Lowes down there they carry some good things. If your living in the Height's I used to go to the Lowes up on Tram Way. I have a few friends out there that have bulk Mesquite if you need.

Thanks everyone for your input-

I'm pretty spoiled, living close to Todd's, just run down there & pick up a few hundred pounds for what a 40 would cost if shipped!

Thanks Red, yup, I see they have a dealer there, you're a real search engine!! I'll call them & check that out-

Foamheart, I'd love to be 100 miles from nowhere, as long as there's meat to be had!!

Ksmoker, thanks for the info, we're not really sure where we'll wind up, would like to be out of the city proper, up towards Santa Fe, but without the requisite price increase!  Sounds like you really miss being there, I'll do a smoke for you as soon as we're in!

Thanks,

Mark

Believe me you are going to the right place for it, if that's what you are looking for, great choice of location! I said the same thing, 3 years later I was bouncing off the walls and I was brought up in the country!

Lady friend once asked me why everyone waves to everyone else when you pass another vehicle on the road. Once I told her I wasn't really that popular. LOL I told her we were just so happy to see another person on the road....LOL

The only place you see a tree, a house is under it, course you maybe headed to the NW, I was the SE in oil and cowboy country.
