Left at a shelter inside her pregnant mother, diagnosed with Addison's disease a little over a year ago. Some blood testing showed a possibility of Cancer, thankfully it wasn't. Just this last few days she came down with Colitis or some bad form of bacterial infection. During treatment she did not eat, yesterday after some meds she got real dizzy. Of course our local vets are all closed on Sunday. I proceeded to get ready and run her to Gainesville, a 45 minute drive. As I got ready and came back to her, her eyes were wide open, unblinking and her legs were straight out. I could not even bend them as I tried to ready her for the trip.  2/3 rds of the way there, she stopped breathing. My wife, who was out of town, and I are in heart ache. I know many don't consider these little dogs to be a real dog. There is just something about a little creature that wants to sit in your lap while you watch TV. She was my dog and I loved her very much. Only just over 4 years old, God called you home way to early.  RIP

Sorry to hear this...my heart goes out to you Flash.  I have experienced that loss myself, as I'm sure all dog lovers have at some point.  At least she is no longer suffering.

Flash, sorry for your loss... Been there many times myself and it's sure not easy... You and your wife take care and hope you'll find peace soon ....

Sorry Flash. One of life's great tragedies is the fact that we live so much longer than dogs. Rest easy in the knowledge that you gave her the best life possible. A life that, without your kind intervention in adopting her, could have been much less happy.

My heart goes out to you only a dog owner would understand your lost. We have two dogs one real and one little as you said but we love them both the same.I lost a dog little time back and I still miss her as you can see. My boxer went every where with me to work and most the time any where else I went. We had mail men that had there routes changed and they actually would come back by just to see Missy. She new the way to work how I know one saturday we were driving down the road and I passed the street we usally turn on and she turned her head and looked down the street and then looked back at me like hey dummy wake up lol. I think in a few months you should just get another one :)

Flash,

Over the years I’ve seen how your pets ARE your family.  I’m sending you and Mrs. Flash wishes of happy memories and prayers of comfort.
