i have one that i have used for about a year now and i have no complaints with it it's been a good one for me,i do want to move up to the maverick dual probe. but this has been a good one for me
 
It looks like the same one I have, but I'm not at home at the moment. The problem I have with it is that it does not go above 199*. So if you are doing a brisket or butt and need to get over 199*, it won't work for you. Plus, you can not use it to check your smoker temp either.

If it does go above 199*, I don't know how to do it...
 
Well I made uo my mind with help from DADDIO's post. I did a little looking and found a Maverick ET-7 dual probe for $45 delivered. That is $10-$15 more than I was looking to spend, but the versatility of two probes is nice. Even if I am smoking one big piece of meat I can monitor temps in two places at the same time.
 
congrats. I have 3 mavericks a 72, 73 and a fork with instant read thermo. don't forget to check it out using ice water or boiling water if it is off they will replace it
 
10-4 on testing it. I did the boiling water test on my Harley digital dip stick. They are not known for accuracy, but mine was right on!!! Thanks everyone for the suggestions and tips.
 
Yeah, you can order the Maverick ET-7 dual probe wireless through Amazon for $39.99 with free shipping as long as you're willing to wait for the 5-9 day delivery. I just might have to buy one or two.
 
I got my Maverick yesterday. Tested it today in boiling water and it is about right on. The wireless range will work great for what I need. I set the temp alarm and when it went off my water was boiling. Now I need my new smoker which will be here next week sometime. I have a MES on order and need it bad. I have not smoked anything fer 2 weeks. I am having withdrawls.
