Hey Krusher, welcome to SMF! Looks like you're hitting the ground running with those butts and ribs.

Before you cook anything in that smoker, don't forget to season it. That will get rid of all the chemical build up from the manufacturer, stuff you don't want infused into your first smoke.

If you want to get those butt's cooked right, follow the directions in Meowy's thread on how to smoke a butt to make pulled pork. The ribs can be cooked a variety of ways, but most prefer the 3-2-1 method.

Good luck!

Welcome, Krusher. You are jumping in quickly. We like Q-view. Lots of info posted here and folks ready to help guide you. As mentioned Jeff's 5 day e-course and his rub recipe are a good start.

Welcome to the forum. Its a great place to find all kinds of info. Maybe add some abt's to the menu or some of Dutch's baked beans. Yummy.

If you are looking for a good rib rub and BBQ sauce go ahead and spend the small amount of money and buy jeffs. The link is on the top right of the page. I no longer use anything else on ribs and the sauce is amazing and can be easily be changed to taste. As for butts most of the time I use a recipe from the smoke and spice book called the renowned mr. brown.
SoFlaQuer posted an amazing finishing sauce over in the pork forums that alot of people here use. Here is a link to the topic http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/for...?t=487&page=15
and here is the recipe
