Experiences or opinions?  I returned the Cabelas digital turd that I got for Christmas and got this one.  So far I didn't get the clean a screen thats supposed to come with it and I can't find the serial number for warranty purposes.  I'll mainly do jerky but my wife wants to do fruit.

I guess nobody has any experience with one. You may want to look at Amazon reviews and see what others are saying.

We'll see on Sunday. I'm going to try ny first deer jerky. 5# Cabela's & 1-2# Nesco/ both classic.

I got one for Christmas.  Never had any problems out of it.  I did go on Amazon and pick up four more trays for it.  I cut my jerky somewhere around 1/8".  Usually around 4-5 hours, I can start to take a few pieces of jerky off.  By 6-8 hours, the remainder gets finished.  I set mine of max heat (around 165).  I like mine a little drier than most.  One thing I do (not sure if it helps any), is take the trays and reverse the tray order periodically through the drying process.  Again, not sure if this helps any.

It worked great. I think next time I'm going to cut back on the cure a bit. I used Cabela's Classic and it was very salty.
