Been on this site a little over a year, use your ideas often but haven't submitted a roll call yet. I smoked years ago & recently started up again. Home fabricated smoker from a 1947 GE refrigerator, propane main heat with electric hot plate smoke generator plumbed in from the side (cold smoke option). I have been known to think of new ideas & would love to hear back on my latest mad scientist project. Have heard of vacuum brining and am going to turn a goodwill pressure cooker into a pork butt vacuum chamber evacuated via my food saver. Anyone think this will work? Tell me your thoughts, thanks

Dano, welcome to SMF, officially.  Glad you are out of the shadows and into the light of the thin blue smoke.  Looking forward to hearing your Macgyver ideas and seeing what gets built.

    Have fun!

  3. Hello Dano. I think that a reverse pressure cooker is a good idea! Don't see why it wouldn't work........Inline shutoff to hold pressure on the pop off valve?  You will be limited to what ever will fit in there though.....lots of possibilities.....let us know what you come up with...
