I injected the bird with a Garlic, Herb marinade the night before and used the rest to marinade the turkey over night. (12 lb turkey)

I also rubbed a little cajun seasoning on before it hit the smoker! It kinda looked like a fat Batman turkey.

Beautiful 60 degree day

I cooked the turkey at 300 degrees for about 6 hrs and mopped it with some beer and leftover marinade

It turned out a little darker than I wanted (Looks more like Batman), but man it tasted amazing!

Thanksgiving in March!

Good Lookin fieldbird ya got thar (if a yardbird is a chicken.........) If worried of looks, could always put a little foil over the wings to keep from getting too dark. Great idea! Got one of them thangs in the freezer that needs "Doin"! Very Nice Smoker!!!

Looks great Matt, good job. I think that puts me on two page 2 of ideas I want to try from this site, thanks!

Great looking bird!! I plan on doing a turkey after I get some mods done. Right now I couldn't get my ECB up to 300 and keep it there unless I threw it on a bonfire.

Hey, are you sure "she" (didn't see any male parts) was at 300 degrees for 6 hours?

My beer can 12 pounders are done in about 3 1/2 hours at 275 to 300:-)

Nice bird, bet there's none left!!!

Steve

Maybe the temp at the turkey was less---doesn't matter though, because sure looks like you had awesome BBQ!!!
