On board from Oregon!

  1. My name is Jay and I am from Sherwood, OR. I am fairly new to smoking but not new to eating good BBQ. I am definitely a foodie with BBQ and pizza tendencies. I currently use a Weber Gold 26" Kettle with a Smokenator. My goals are to get a Brinkmann Trailmaster LE with some modding to turn it into a budget beast of a smoker. My dream set up would be a Yoder YS640. I love ribs and am dying to do a brisket and a Boston butt. My wife makes our rubs and they rock! I am a retail manager for a big company and grilling/cooking helps me relax. This site will be my main resource for honing some skill withe the grill.

If you didn't read the Terms of Service notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums. Rule #11......"Off Site Links are not allowed here at SMF" is something new. There are other simple guidelines for all of us to remember as we interact here.

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
