I just received my Old Country Pecos over the weekend - I haven't used it yet because I want to get a cover and the weather isn't quite appropriate but I had some concern - My smoker appears to be a little slanted towards the chimney size - Is this normal?

Go back earlier in this thread and look for Franklin's YouTube link on seasoning a pit: looks to me like it does slant to the chimney.

Happy Birthday to me :)
I came home with a new smoker! My first ever, hope I can turn out some half decent bbq.

It's a little dirty and has some light rust I will need to paint but talked them down to $339 at Academy so I think I did ok.

Has anyone tried grilling in the chamber and not on top of the grate in the fire box? if so what did you put the coals on to keep them off of the bottom of barrel?
