Okay, I know that title isn't relevent, I just like it!

My name is Bob and live in the great pork-producing state of Iowa. I got interested in grilling when I worked in catering about 10 years ago, and just bought my first smoker in the last week of 2011. I haven't done the catering for years, which makes me like cooking (and grilling/smoking even more). I tested the waters of smoking by first buying a cast iron box from Menard's for chips and adding water in a foil pan to my gas grill, but that just fed the urge to find a smoker. One of the best things I've ever grilled was with this method (the pork loin in my profile pic currently). Along with grilling meat, I also always add a veggie on the side and see what I can create with those too. At least that way, I can look my doc in the face the next time I see him

For equipment, I have a Brinkman 5-burner grill and my new Master Forge two door gas "New" model smoker (still working on the mods). I almost forgot the mini-Weber for tailgating at the Iowa State football games in the fall. I've also accumulated a small array of accessories - beer can chicken holder, multiple kabob holders/sticks/wires, planks, baskets, brushes, thermometers, and pans - most of which were used extensively at first and then retired to the drawer when the next one first came home. I also just ordered a new Maverick ET732 and a pair of gloves that were one of the things that "other people also purchased" on Amazon yesterday. I usually don't get tricked into the add-ons, but this time I took a chance. We'll see what they look like in 5 to 10 days.

If you want to learn, love and impress in the taste of food preached here in this forum than you better start researching here and asking questions. By this time next year you'll be 10X a better smoker/bbq'er and you'll be hooked.
