Hello!  My name is Kevin from Kentucky.  I've been smoking meat for a few years now.  My wife was nice enough to get me my first indirect smoker for our anniversary one year.  Since then, I've been enjoying the process of smoking "low and slow"!

I'm very interested in learning more about the smoking process so I can ramp up my smoking a little and start doing it on the side now and again.  This year, I've started smoking for our company's Relay For Life team.

I've read some of the posts on this website and it seems to be a great place to pick up good information.

Hope to get to know a lot of you on here!  Feel free to message me anytime!

Welcome to the board, Kevin! Direct smoking is tricky and there isn't really a sharp line between grilling and smoking. Indirect opens up a whole new set of methods, as you say, low and slow.

Welcome Kevin from SC. I'm sure this site will give you what you want. There are lots of folks here with tons of experience and they are always eager to share ideas, tips, recipes or anything else that you need. All you have to do is ask. Remember to send pics of your smokes. What kind of smoker do you have. It's always nice when the Ms. springs for the cooker. Good luck and good smoking, Joe
  4. Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
    Happy smoken.

    Welcome to SMF! :welcome:
We're glad to have you. The search bar at the top is your most valuable resource here. This forum has been around for over ten years, so there is a good chance that any questions you may have, have already been answered (they may have 10 different answers, but you'll get an instant response non the less).
Please be sure to post your smokes along with your process and recipes. We will be glad to help you along the way and we may also learn something new ourselves in the process. Also, don't forget the very important Q view! (We're mad for pics on here 😁)
Always remember to have fun because it's not fun if you have to work at it.
    Thanks for joining,
    - Ryan
