My wife and I usually buy a big slab of salmon (5-6#) at Sam's Club and it is really fresh and consistant. Today my wife was in a hurry and bought some salmon at a Ralph's store. When I unwrapped it the label said "Farm raised with color added". I went ahead and used some of it, it didn't have the flavor and it dried out quickly in the process. I told my wife that from now on, we buy WILD salmon. She agreed to take back the remainder for a refund. Read the labels my brothers.

I hear ya. We live in America, "why the hell don't we support Americans?", pond raised, over sea's, thanks, but no thanks. Terry

i still own a (retired- by imports & fuel prices) shrimp boat on the texas coast... i spent $3.18 per gallon diesel- burn 18gals an hr to catch gulf hawgs- 10-15 count per lb white shrimp i got paid $1.25 per lb. for... i only lost $300-$500 a day (w/ ice & groceries) to catch $200 of fresh caught wild white shrimp......now i'm in wally world in ky. to spend $6.00 per lb. of (waht i would get paid $.28 per lb for) fer chinese turkey manure fed cocktail shrimp..... ( 31-45( thats not even a count) count).... and $4.o a gal fer milk- only 2000 cows & 15 dairy farms between here & town.......do they think us americans are stupid, desparate, or just rich... thee are our own people..... JUST SAY NO- I WON'T BUY IT.....

Yeh Gypsy, you are right, but as you and I both know, people just don't give a damn, if they can save 2 cents, and not buy from the same neighbor that pays taxes in the same county, they buy, from, a forien(sp) country "always the low prices, ALWAYS" , gee, good luck America, you have sealed your own doom!!! God bless you anyway! Terry,

if it's seafood - if i don't kill it i don't eat it...even then it better be 50 miles offshore in blue water... now that crazy turkey that was hurting himself on the fence ( his hoof weight @ 23 lbs)- i had to end his suffering.... and as my father in law is all about " being the man"and i still qualify @ 900 yards w/ 98% ratio on a .308 w/ a 9lb (thats custom)barrel - i just whacked the poor bird w/ a stick....

I agree with you BigArm's smokin', that's why I buy my produce from the local farmers market. It may cost a little more, but the produce taste fresher, last a lot longer, and I proudly support the local farmers, Lord knows they can use a little help.

If we don't support our local farmers they have no choice but to sell out! They don't make much money as it is and work like dogs for what little they get!

Support your local farmers!

All available around here is farm raised in Chile with color added. I won't buy it! A friend of mine from Nam is a big Cattle Rancher ( measures his ranch in square miles not acres and flys over it to look for sick or missing cattle) in the sand hills of Nebraska, you ought to hear him talk about what they fight everyday with the foreign crap going on. He even has to ship his beef 2 or 3 states away because all the closer processing plants are doing Canadian beef. Costs him a lot of extra money to ship further. You would think local people would get preference
