Hello,

I am new here, first post.  Although I have been reading the forums for about 2 days.  I just got a smoker, I think you guys call it the MES 30.  Masterbuilt Elesctric Smoker 30 inch.  No window and it has the digital timer and temp on the top.  I did preseason it, but that's it so far.  I was hoping to smoke something this weekend....today is Saturday, but we have too many places to go.  I may grab some rub ingredients while we're out, some ribs and a brisket to get started though as soon as I can.  One thing I wanted to try was smoking hard boiled eggs, as my friend told me they are great.  But he also just told me I need to cold smoke those, which means I'll have to get the Masterbuilt Cold Smoker add-on or the A-Maz-N Pellet Smoker...at least from what I have read.  With the MB one, I see the benefit of longer smokes without having to add chips every 45-50 mins for regular smoking and I can use the same chips.  With the A-Maz-N, it's less expensive, runs long, but I'll have to get dust or pellets.  It also seems to have trouble staying lit.  So, I don't know.

Anyway, great community here, happy to be a part of it, and I can't wait for my first smoke!

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...

I use the AMNPS with my MES and it works great. Just take the time to get it going.

That is where most people have problems.
Happy smoken.

Welcome to the board! I suggest you start learning your smoker with chicken, as it's quick and inexpensive if it doesn't go right.

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a cloudy, damp and cool day in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything .    Lots of MES smokers on here
