Sup !

My name is James and I live in The south in Ga.i purchased a masterbuilt 20070512 to make smoking alittle easier.normaly I run my smoker grill where it was mainly impart flavor, color, etc and then finish in the oven for tenderness.im looking to still finish with my food wrapped in foil for tenderness but less hands on since I tend to mess with it to much.

I'm reading a lot of posts placed by members to learn more about the basics and to answer almost all of my questions.the one question I have a.t.m is,does anyone know where I can get a larger chip box and chip delivery tube for my smoker ? This little playing card sized chip holder is drivin me nuts lol.i was told the older model had one but masterbuilt said they no longer make them due to people would over fill them and broil ( blow the door open ) with there product rather than low smoke.

Thank you

Hi and welcome. I have learned a ton here as Im sure you will as well. As for a bigger chipbox. I would try Academy, GanderMountain, Bass proshop. I remember seeing some there. Or get a cast iron pan that will fit.

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  We look forward to your contributions. Check out the below site, will solve you smoke problem.  I am curios though; why do you feel it necessary to wrap in foil and finish in the oven? I mean no disrespect, I am just trying to understand why you are not getting tender meat from your smoker.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Thank you for the welcome.

Today is my first time using my masterbuilt 40" 20070512.normaly I set a small fire in,place a cast iron pan with chips on in my smoker griller which I have used for years to impart smoke.the reason I finish in which I have is due to it being mainly a grill it's impossible to leave it closed for more than 1 1/2 hrs at a time and impossible to not dry it out to the point it rivals a 35 million year old fossil.its not so much as lack of a smoke issue but rather having to pic threw for the smallest pieces from the bag to be able to fit correctly.after posting I did a web search to see there is a compressed pellet you can purchase for use in smokers.i spoke to masterbuilt and the agent on the phone used the word chips so I was going with chips per the term and not pellets as now I think she meant but used chips as a general term.

Thank you for the help it's all a huge welcome

Hi James and welcome aboard!  As Gary already suggested, I'd say check out A-Maze-N Products.  Todd's smoke generators are great, plus he's both a member and a sponsor of these forums.
