Hi all!  I'm a newbie to this forum but I love it and so glad I found it.  I have two smokers, a beef master (fire box charcoal horizontal smoker) and a Brinkman electric.  I love the charcoal but I'm not great with it.  The brinkman allows me to be a little more consistent although I don't much like the varied temperatures I'm getting. I started using a stepless motor controller I use with my router and fan in the shop and it seems to work.  I 'm sure I"ll burn it out as it's getting really hot.  Overall I love BBQ, smoked  meats and fish and grilled veggies and so does my wife.

I live in Va, but I'm from the Lone Star state, and I take BBQ very seriously,  but I'm not a master.  My dad is the best BBQ person I know, he makes a mean brisket, ribs that are to die for and pork steaks that rock.  I'm hoping to be as good as him one day.

Thanks for being a great forum and I hope to contribute some knowledge.

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
