Hey all!
My name is Roy and a couple weeks ago I went to Texas on business, tried their BBQ and decided we weren't living right in NJ. So I bought a Brinkmann Smoke n' Grill charcoal smoker and figured I would try my hand at it. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm a somewhat competent cook so I'm hoping for the best, although I'm off to a head-scratching start. I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions and I know I have a lot to learn. It's nice to say "Hi" to y'all and I'd like to thank you all in advance for your help.

Welcome to SMF. Great to have you. I would start by taking the 5 day e-course. There is alot of info here and people who will steer you in the right direction. Don't forget to take pics. We all love to drool over a good smoke.

Welcome to SMF, Roy. Glad you joined us. Take the time to read the posts and take the ecourse. Don't be afraid to ask questions. You'll be turning out great smoked food in no time.

Hey, Roy! You're in the right place for learning a great craft...lots of folks here that aren't bashful about helping a fellow smoker, so fire away with any concerns or questions when the time comes.

Welcome aboard, and have a great time learning!

Eric

Welcome, I too am from NJ, joined last week. Smoked for the first time Saturday using my Brinkmann Coon N' Carry unit. All the info here really helped me out and it was one of the best meals I had in a while. Check out my thread with pics under the Charcoal Smoker section.
