Actually, the resulting product turned out well, but...
I started smoking two pork butts yesterday and all went well the first 3 hours. And then the rains fell. I'm out there trying to keep the heat up in the Char-griller smoker I use. The rain just sucks the heat away from me and the cooking chamber. What should have been a 6 to 7 hour smoke turned into a 12 hour smoke. Yeah, I could have taken the meat into the house and finished in the oven, but it just isn't the same is it? Since the cooking temp was much closer to 200 than 225-230, I had a 4 hour stall at 170. Finally at 11:00 pm, it hit 200. Both butts at almost exactly the same time.
I need to forget the 6 hours of rain soaked fire tending, so sorry no Qview. No pictures, it didn't happen. I just have some delicious pulled pork magically appearing in my refrigerator.
