Pulled the pin on a GMG DBSSR pellet cooker/smoker from Mike West and crew at BBQ Island in Tempe. Good folks and a fair deal.
Have a Primo Oval XL that is more than I can handle after a couple of hand surgeries. Also have a Mini - Big Green Egg that has about 215,000 miles on it. Like my wife, it needs some parts rebuilt and updated, but all in all I'll keep her, and the mini!
Recently graduated to being a Type II diabetic and controlling my BG with Atkins diet. (Bacon is your friend!, my kind of diet.) Dropped 35 pounds, have become a wanna be "meat-head" in the gym sense, and play pickleball about 16 hours a week, yes even in summer!
Survived 2 wars and 26+ years in the USAF. All my X's live in Texas and even thought its a big state, AZ is close enough for me.
Now if Phil, Dave and Mike from BBQ Island would get down hear and help me get rid of some cold beer, I'll help them put the beast together!
Looking forward to learning a lot about cooking, smoking and in general becoming a better human being and more centered with earth mother..........right.
