Hello all,

Well it was suggested to introduce myself and here it goes. I have been getting tips from this website for awhile and decided to join.

I live in the wonderful Commonwealth of Massachusetts (tax-a-chipsets) I call it. I think I'm breaking the rules but I have a Webber summit 6 banner propane grill. I have always been a propane guy, probably because I never tried anything else, I'm sure it's due to laziness. Although I will say I have been experimenting on different grilling methods and have used slow cooking approaches that are used in slow cookers/smokers. All I will say it's a work in progress, lol.

Glad to be here and looking forward to talk to you experienced grilles/smokers.

Oh ya, I started a pork shoulder picnic cut today. I will attempt to post as this process goes.

Happy cooking and eating[emoji]128076[/emoji]

Don-

Glad you finally joined SMF, great group of folks on here who love the Art of Smoking Meat (and Grilling too).

Not sure if you are adding smoke on your Weber or not, if you are not and are looking for an easy way to, check out the A-Maze-N-Tube, I use mine quite a bit on my Gasser.

Good luck & Smoke ON!

Hi Jason,

I am smoking on the grill. I don't have a built-in so have been either putting my wood chips in foil or in a aluminum tray. Appreciate the shoutout and I must agree from reading other post it looks like there is a lot of experience here which I hope to pull from.

Well I'm into my 5 1/2 hour with the pork shoulder and up to 165 IT. We will se, although it really does smell good. Using mystique chips today with a quick and easy dry rub.

Fingers crossed or there will be a unhappy group with pitch forks look to tenderize me.

Welcome from SC, Don. I guess you have already noticed tat this is a great site. There are tons of folks who are always eager to share their ideas, tips, recipes or whatever you need. All you have to do is ask. A gasser is good to grill or finish on, but for smoking, it's a lot of fun to play with fire and experiment. When you get ready for a move, do some research to decide what style you want, what fuel you want to use, whether you want set and forget or play with fire. Whatever you do, don't ask "what cooker should I buy"? You don't have enough time to read all the answers that you'll get. Seriously, everyone is here to help and all of the suggestions have merit. Good luck and keep on smoking, Joe.
