Hey Ya'll,

I'm new to your forum but like much what I've read and the welcome I've received so far. My name is Ed, I currently live in Missouri, transplanted from Alaska to care for grandbaby who's momma got shipped to Kuwaiit with U.S. Army.

I've got a fair amount of experience with jerkey and smoked salmon. Started off in the old days with a Luhr Jensen Little Chief smoker for fish then graduated to a home built electric ( 1500 watt G.E hot plate) from an old fridge that worked great for fish and jerkey. Here's a pic of my home built..
I added two more racks and guarantee it wasn't so shiny when I passed it on to a friend when I moved !

After selling everything I own to come to America and care for our grandbaby, the things I missed most were my smoker and my motorcycle.  Haven't replaced the motorcycle yet but have upgraded to a propane smoker I bought at Lowes - Mastercraft pictured here...
I have no experience smoking anything other than fish and jerkey and appreciate any advice any of ya'll care to share with me.  So much to learn....I have no experience with "wet smoking" but will have my first crack at it tomorrow with a marinated pork roast for pulled pork sandwiches ( pics will follow ).

Looking forward to deer and turkey from my smoker, bow season starts in 3 days - YESSSS !!! Never seen a live deer, can't wait.

Anywho, howdy to all ya'll, thanks in advance for all ya share and will do my best to return it.  Just wishing someone would invent scent sharing via i-net so we could smell each others smokiness ha !!
