Hello everyone.   I'm located in Merced, Ca.  I just added the Side Fire Box to my Charg-Griller Duo, and smoked a couple Tri-Tips with Applewood.  They where awsome.  When I was'nt maintaining my coals, I was reading this forum.  So much info....  I will be making various mods to my smoker to improve it's ability, and I'm looking forward to getting more ideas from the members of this board.

That is the best thing you can do is read and read and then experiment. And if you have questions along the way there will be someone here that will help you out. Welcome to the forum glad you joined us.

Welcome Rich,

Just about anything you can ask, there will be someone here with the answer. There are so many here, with so many different experiences, from so many different places.

Yep, it's really easy to "info overload" will all the great topics and tips here at SMF. Glad to hear that those Tri-tips came out awesome. Now all you need to do is introduce Mr. Brisket, Mr. Butt and Mr. Ribs to your smoker!

Welcome to SMF from NorCal. Glad to have you here and yes there is so much information here. Wait until you start taking pictures of everything you cook. Dont worry it will happen = )

There is a boatload of info here for sure but the best info you are going to get will come from your own sucesses and mistakes. Pay attention to those and keep your own notes, then compare that to what you find on here and that will give you a good idea of your progress.

Probably the best advice I can think of is have an idea of what you want to end up with, then work your way backwards and develop a "game plan" for your smoke. Welcome aboard..

Welcome to the SMF. Glad to have you here. Lots of good folks, great recipes and knowledge. Looking forward to your first qview.
