Have been reading the site for some time now, got Jeff's rub and sauce recipe and have learned a great deal from all the experts here. I really appreciate the readiness of everyone to help and give such friendly advice. I have a dual sided charcoal grill I bought at Sams called a "Backyard Professional", not really a smoker but can be used in a pinch if your willing to spend the needed time to keep temps right. Now my question: I want to buy a GOSM gas unit and I was wondering how many models of these things are there ? I basically have seen two sizes but I noticed some pics I have seen somewhere show units that have vents at the bottom on each side. The ones I am seeing online now do not have the vents on the side. Is this a model issue or am I not looking in the right place? Thanks for any help you folks can give me.

The GOSM big block has two vents on the bottom, one on each side, and then there is the exhaust one which is on top. It has plenty of room for food, something you an always use. I'm not sure on the specs. of other models.

Like richoso1 said, get the GOSM Big Block. The model number that I got was the 3605 and it's dimensions are:

36"H x 24"W x 16"D

Plenty big for anything. You can fit 4 whole spares or 4-5 10#+ butts.

By the way, got mine at Bass Pro.

I think there are 3 different types of GOSM there is the standard that is 36x16x16 no side vents

then there is the wide body that is 36x20x16 that has side vents

then there is the big block that is 36x24x15 that also has side vents

most GOSM owners will tell you go with the wide body or the big block and I agree I have a wide body and am very happy with it I think I would have been a little frustrated if i would have got the standard.
