Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce my self. My name is Paul (aka Jazzbo) and I live in Tuscaloosa Alabama.

I moved here from Southeast Missouri in 2010. I have been a BBQ lover since I was 10 or 11. I was excited about sampling the very famous Southern BBQ. Man was I let down. Anyway after trying out about 25 different Q restaurants in the state, I came away with the same result every time....disappointment. It was then I decided to buy a very cheap electric smoker (please don't throw stones at me) to see if I could even replicate or make good BBQ. I really didn't expect the electric smoker to last longer than a year or so, but three years later it's still going strong getting a regular weekly or bi-weekly workout.

I am not a "electric only" advocate as I do cook "old school style" too. I just have to go to a buddy's house to do it.

The smoker that sits on my porch is a Masterbuilt 30". It serves me well and I have learned different "tricks" to using it and getting better results. It's been a great investment!

Looking forward to all the discussions and info that I can glean on this forum.

Hi Jazzbo

I haven't been here long myself, but one thing I've seen, no stone throwing goes on here. Very nice folks at this forum!

Poke around and you can learn a lot here.
