Newbie to the board

Checked out this site a few times, so I figured it was time for me to register. Just getting into this smoking game, so I'll be looking for LOTS of info. Not a lot of people smoking here in Central NY. I just bought the Masterbuilt 40" smoker, so its experimenting time for me. Glad to be a part of the community!

Welcome to the board! Actually there are several central NY people here.

We usually suggest that beginners start with chicken like split breasts or thighs, just to get the hang of your rig without investing a lot in big expensive cuts.

Pics, huh? I can do that! Actually have a rack of ribs I put in a while ago. Trying Jeff's Sticky Baby Backs recipe. I'll see if I can post some pics.

Hello,  I live in western WI on the Mississippi River near La Crosse.  Just bought my 2nd Masterbuilt Electric Smoker. Not a frequent practitioner because my wife has a love hate thing on smoking. Mostly doing pork butts.
