Greetings from Tennessee. I am new to the smoking arena. Just purchased a cheapo Brinkman Gourmet. Already made a few modifications like putting a grate in the charcoal pan & a temp. gauge in the lid. Any other suggestions? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also how do you regulate temp. in one of these things without dampeners? Thank you.

Welcome to SMF harleyguy.....never used one, so can't help ya there, but someone who has one should be around shortly.

Welcome to the forum Harleyguy!
I'm not familiar with your smoker, but would think you regulate the temperature with the air intake. Hopefully someone who has one will be along to answer your question.

Good to have you here! :)

Welcome to the forums! You got good advice from smokin_tarheel. I would suggest the same thing. If your rig doesn't have a damper in the lid, you could add one to gain air flow control.
