Hello everyone,
I'm a 35 yr old father and husband that just recently got interested in learning how to smoke meat. I have a char-griller professional with a side smoke box, that's never been used. Im also interested in modifying my grill and have a few ideas already thanks to this site. Guess that's about it for now.

welcome and glad you found us.

There are some mods that you can do to your charr griller that will improve it's performance and make your smoking job a whole lot easier.

just type in chargriller mods in the search box. There's 890 of them LOL

Welcome to the SMF Family...There is a ton of info posted and some great people to talk to when you need help...JJ

Here's a thread dedicated to modding that smoker.  It's only 15 pages long, so get comfortable if you sit down to read it all.  I've got the same smoker and I got tons of ideas from this thread.  I'm still not 100% satisfied with it, but I've finally been able to churn out some respectable Q with it.

Stick around here and you'll learn tons.  I've gone from producing smokey hockey pucks to Q worth talking about in about 6 months with the lessons I've learned here.
