Hey everybody!

I'm new to the forums and wanted to introduce myself. I've been reading these forums for a while, and used reviews on this forum to make my smoker purchase decision - a 16" Classic Backyard smoker. I spent last year doing smokes using my propane grill and just setting one burner on at a low temp and adding a foil packet of wood chips on to that. The results were good, but this year I decided to put on my big boy pants and invest in an offset.

I'm doing my first real smoke today, after seasoning it earlier this week and doing a few runs on it to play with temp control. I had planned on doing things on Friday, but some jerks decided to cause trouble and the whole town ended up on lock down. I've already got the meat on the smoker (two brisket flats) and I am looking forward to a nice day of smoking.

You all seem like a nice friendly group, so I am looking forward to spending plenty of time here. Happy smoking!

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those little "pesky" rules before plunging into the forums. It's just a reminder of what to do and what is sort of a no-no here.

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
