Good morning. I just purchased my first smoker. It is a Smoke Hollow 26142G propane type. I took advice from some casual smokers prior to my first smoking adventure. It never dawned on me to ask how much wood chips should I use for country ribs and pork roast.

I assumed that the size of the container provided should be "full". My ribs were extremely smokey to the point where I could not eat them. The pork roast, which cooked way longer, turned out good. I will eat that tonight.

As a rule of thumb, how muac wood chips should i be using? Please advise.

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a cold and chilly day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Maybe a gas smoker will jump in help steer you in the right direction
