Good morning. I just purchased my first smoker. It is a Smoke Hollow 26142G propane type. I took advice from some casual smokers prior to my first smoking adventure. It never dawned on me to ask how much wood chips should I use for country ribs and pork roast.

I assumed that the size of the container provided should be "full". My ribs were extremely smokey to the point where I could not eat them. The pork roast, which cooked way longer, turned out good. I will eat that tonight.

As a rule of thumb, how muac wood chips should i be using? Please advise.

Start with a hand full of chips and work your way up. Their is no correct answer as some like

more smoke than others. Remember to take notes so you know how to correct it.
    Happy smoken.
