Hi, gang -- my wife and I have always liked BBQ, but after her cochlear implant surgery early this year, her sense of taste has gone all screwy: things that used to taste good now taste awful to her.  Fortunately, smoked meats still hit the right taste buds for her, and I work from home, so I figure "me and smoking" is a match made in heaven!

My MES 30 arrives in a couple days, and I've really enjoyed reading all y'all's tips, tales and recipes! Looking forward to sharing a few of my own!

best,

Greg Leslie

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Greg, glad to have you on board. We have a number of MES users here that will give you plenty of tips and how to's on that new smoker you're getting. So if ya get stuck, give a shout over in the Electric Smoker forum and some one will be able to walk ya through things.

Enjoy the Smoke!

Hello from Canada, Greg.

I only started smoking last year and this forum has helped me so much. I started by using the search bar before I started a project. Then I posted a couple of threads as I was doing the project and got real time advice. Now, I read the forum regularly to get new smoking ideas. The members here are so generous with their knowledge and experience.
