Newbie in SC

    Hello all. My name is Joe and I have been smoking for about 4 years. I have been a judge in the SCBA and really enjoyed it and made some great friends. I am now retired and don't get to many comps. My backyard smoking for the last 3 years has been a WSM 22.5 which I just recently sold. It is a great cooker but due to back trouble was too hard to take apart, clean, re-assemble, etc. I am now looking for a stick burner and am hung up between an Old Country Brazos or a Horizon 20" Classic. I'm really looking forward to getting acquainted with all on this site.
     
  2. Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
    About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
    and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
    We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
    Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
    because their are so many different ways to make great Q...

  4. Right now in South Texas, Brisket, and BB ribs are each$3.89# and the St. Louie ribs are $3.69 #.  Butts were $1.77 but now back up to $2.00ish.  Chickens are still a buck a pound plus.

  6. Hello Joe. Welcome to the forum. I'm down the road from you in Townville. Lot's of great folks here. Just remember being retired, if you are not smoking something  the wife has chores for you.
