My name is Chris, I'm from Ohio. I just started smoke cooking. I use a Brinkman electric smoker. So far I've smoked some trout, a pork butt, and a chicken. I have an endless supply of apple wood and hickory, but I mainly use apple. I have plans to smoke my own bacon, so any input would be appreciated.

Welcome to the board, Chris! Apple is a good all-around wood. Use the Search to look up your smoker and see how people use them.

Thanks everyone, I have a chicken sitting in brine as we speak that I plan to rub down cajun style for a treat on Memorial day. Bless our troops and thanks to all who have served!
