Hello my name is Joe and you all addicted me to smoking. I'm from Ohio, Military took me to North Carolina and current job has me in Central Florida. I'm a helicopter mechanic and welder by trade and just can't belleive it took me so long to build my first smoker. I had my lower back fused from L-2 to S-1 and really didn't think I was going to be able to do this type of work again but a little over a year from going under the knife and I'm doing pretty good. The job got me behind a desk now and I was getting bored to death so it was time to do something so a cherry picker to do the heavy lifting and the build is on. Back tracking a little while I was recovering from the surgeries I started watching all those food shows which led me to yes the internet search, I found this site and was going through all the builds that people did and I was hooked. I just posted my current progress on the smoker and can't wait for the first cook. Thanks everyone for your builds that have been posted and all the great info passed on from you.

Welcome Joe! Glad you made it over here to introduce yourself. I'm looking forward to seeing your finished build. I was an A&P mechanic for Mesa in Charlotte, before kids. Welcome to SMF. Glad to have you here.
