Hello all! Newbie here to say hello. Me and my better half have decided to hop in the water and swim a little. We have a friend who has a trailer smoker who usually fixes us up with meats every so often but not so much lately. We're going to get an Okie joe's at Lowes or HD and get started. We've read enough to know these are the same as a Horizon or other higher end ones but can deliver good results with some mods. We feel this is an entry level price we can work with as we learn and grow. Smoking meats is a fairly intimidating craft to enter. Between the equipment, the methods, the woods, the rubs, etc it's easy for a beginner to feel overwhelmed. But hey. We all learned by doing. I can now do the eCourse and start getting some practice in. Thanks, Don.

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us! Hope yall were safe and didn't have damage from the storms the past few weeks.

You will learn a bunch from the e-course.  Print them and save the papers in a notebook so you can refer to the later on.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums. http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/a/terms-of-service

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
