I'm new here and just bought a 250 gal propane tank.  I plan to go with a reverse flow and was looking for advice on what size of firebox I need and what you guys would recommend as far as porting it (i.e. what size of port and all).  I really only want to have to build this thing one time! LOL  Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

BTW, I was thinking I'd do a pipe firebox on it.  If you guys think that is a bad idea, feel free to let me know.

Thanks,

Corey

Corey, morning and welcome to the forum......  Here is one more calculator....

http://www.feldoncentral.com/bbqcalculator.html

As far as the fire box goes, anything works..... Keep in mind ease of use for sticks or charcoal basket and removing the ash on long smokes....  Some folks preheat their sticks, inside the fire box, to reduce the thick white smoke.....  There are lots of ideas, folks have come up with, to improve the overall quality of smoking food... If you have the time, read the builds folks have done....  It would be well worth it to incorporate their ideas you like into your build.....  I know I hate building stuff twice....

Ask more questions when they arise.... Lots of folks willing to help with ideas and direction...
