My neighbor showed me your website and now I'm hooked. I have had a Charbroil smoker pit for eight years and am looking at picking up either a GOSM propane or a Masterbuilt electric next. What are the pros/cons of each?

Welcome to SMF.I use wood and charcoal myself, but many folks on forum use those units....and will be glad to chime in....

Welcome to the SMF from your southern neighbor! I've spent a lot of time up in the tri-cities area over the last couple of years!

As for the difference between the two listed units, I'd go with the GOSM over the MES, hands down! The issues plaguing the MES (electrical, temperature control, control panel) are too numerous and there aren't many disadvantages to the GOSM. They both offer good room inside but you get better (and higher) heat control from the GOSM.

If it were me, I’d buy the GOSM and never look back as it is closer to charcoal smoking than any of the electrics.
